Cupping is an ancient practice for muscular aches and pains. A glass cup with a vacuum seal is placed on the skin. This stimulates blood flow and allows the muscle tension to release. Cupping can also be used to pull pathogens like the flu or colds out the body.
Guasha is also used for relieving muscle tension by rubbing a smooth impliment on the skin it improves blood flow. Guasha can also be used to pull pathogens like the flu or colds out the body.
Cupping and guasha are commonly used by acupuncturists as part of their treatment. They both leave temperary marks that can look like bruises, this is not a sign that it is painful but of how stagnated the area where pain is located. Cupping and guasha is a useful tool for pain relief.
