I’m Kim. I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2010. Initially I was involved in sports; working with the Fawkham football team and Gravesend rugby team. Since then I have specialised in whiplash associated disorders - working in a medicolegal environment, I also started teaching Pilates for KTB Pilates and Physiotherapy.

I then took a sabbatical to volunteer as a Physiotherapist in Belize, working for Hillside health care International. Here I had to specialise in all desciplines and conditions! We set up temporary clinics in villages for those who couldn't access health care.

An array of musculoskeletal conditions and their treatment were covered working for Premier physio in GP surgeries, where I also trained in acupuncture. Paediatrics was my real passion; helping children less able, reach their milestones was incredibly rewarding and I trained in hydrotheraly working at the Royal deaf school in Margate.

Finally orthopaedic skills were learnt from the BMI hospitals The Chaucer in Canterbury and The Somerfield in Maidstone, here I was also able to continue providing acupuncture, hydrotherapy and pilates. I have certifications for sports massage (Proactive), acupuncture (Allied) and Pilates (APPI).

£50 for an hour        £30 for half hour.

I have been teaching Pilates for 8 years and teach diverse clients, examples include: Elderly; avoiding that “stoop” from poor posture. Sporting; teaching roller derby or hockey teams. Ergonomic; for office workers, or people with sedentary lifestyles. Clinical; to manage back or neck symptoms, hypermobility syndrome, after surgery or trying to prevent surgery. After completing my Physiotherapy degree, I became aware of the importance of good posture and how, many people (including myself) didn't recognise that their stances were inefficient. I then trained in Prescribed Pilates with Katie Ballard and more recently completed the Australian Pilates and Physiotherapy Institute (APPI) qualification. In my spare time I am very active, so Pilates is essential for me to maintain strength and symmetry through working posture muscles.
